Some US Senators have sent a letter to President Bush regarding the recent US/Iraq Declaration of Principles, saying that "It is unacceptable for your Administration to unilaterally fashion a long-term relationship with Iraq without the full and comprehensive participation of Congress from the very start of such negotiations." This is good.
Unfortunately the letter refers to Congress as "a co-equal branch of our government" which is not good. There is nothing in the constitution about co-equality. The Constitution clearly gives more power to the Congress than to the other two branches.

Paul Krugman has a very important column on mandates in health care. How it might play out badly for whoever the new Democratic presidient is....because Barack Obama is using right wing talking points now and that could be used against universal plans in the future.
I know this is your area of expertise. I know you support mandates. You praised the Edwards and Clinton plan for having them. I think it's very important that you comment on his column... I have in the past trusted your judgements when it comes to health care reform.
