Quote of the Day

Oh Kevin, I love it when you're snarky:

Bush has compounded American prestige and influence, and the evidence is the mere fact that people are willing to show up at Annapolis. The last time I saw someone set a bar that low I was surrounded by a crowd of tipsy revelers while Chubby Checker blared "Limbo Rock" in the background.

I think Bush is just doing this so he and Condi can sneak away from Laura for a day or two.

Every country that matters, and a lot that don't, will be represented.

"And I'd like to thank our good friend, the Third Undersecretary for Rutabaga Marketing, for joining us and showing the depth of the EU's commitment to America's peace plans..."

"the Third Undersecretary for Rutabaga Marketing"

That sounds like a good job, with healthcare, pension plan. How much do I need to donate to the RNC to get that gig?

Nice, but The Champs recorded "Limbo Rock" first as an instrumental version in early 1962. Chubby Checker added the vocals on a version released six months later, but the version most often played at the parties I've been to was the instrumental.

Not that anyone should care . . .
