In Which We Learn That Karen Hughes Likes Ozomatli

Karen Hughes, the Bush confidante who was responsible for repairing America's image in the world, is resigning. This sounds a bit like a farce -- of course she's resigning. We have no public image to speak of, are widely loathed, and she's failed. Au contraire, says Fred Kaplan. She's actually done the best she could do in an utterly impossible job, and once she realized it was impossible, has been determinedly building up the office's infrastructure so that the next president, if they decide to pursue policies that won't render America an international pariah, can put it to good use. And plus: Do you really want to bag on any Bush administration who sent the awesome Ozomatli on a worldwide concert tour?

What's an ozomatli? The native mexican indian name for "ocelot"? And shouldn't sending the poor animal around the world be a case for PETA?

I read that line and couldn't believe it either. But if the Cut Chemist Suite can't bring us world acclaim, what can?

Wow, considering you usually post about hipster indie bands I'm impressed you know who Ozomatli is (are?).

You and Yglesias and Buetler need to expand your musical horizons a bit. Live a little

"Gray is channeling Emily Litella again..."
No, seriously, you're forcing this humble German commenter to do a lot of googling. Ozomatli. Emily Litella. Well, at least I learned something new again...

And thank God Mcdonald's is the proud corporate sponsor for their new tour! Spreading bad taste and fat asses around the world!
