A gamble indeed. Check out this ethnic map, remember that Saudi Arabia is funding the Madrassas in the Taliban/Pashtun communities and recall the recent Saudi demand that Musharraf's rival Nawaz Sharif return to Pakistan.

We've already lost at least one and it looks like we might lose more. news report:
Maj. Larry J. Bauguess Jr., 36, of Moravian Falls, N.C., died May 14 [2007] in Teri Mengel, Pakistan, of wounds sustained from enemy small arms fire. He was assigned to the 4th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.
