Quote of the Day

Ana Marie Cox on the AARP forum for the Republicans, which only McCain and Huckabee participated in:

The most significant "smackdown" was McCain's criticism of Huckabee's national sales tax endorsement. They both took optimistic views of a future "personalization" of Social Security, and McCain made a sort of left-field pronouncement about the importance of living wills. (Relevant to the AARP crowd, but not exactly uplifting.) As I'm watching now, they're doing an "After you, Alphonse" routine about who gets to give the first closing statement. McCain and Huckabee would make both a great joint ticket and a really cute gay couple.

Why wasn't Giuliani there? Giuliani can handily win the alter-kocker vote as they'll love him for "keeping us safe from 'those people'", etc. But that vote likes to have their asses kissed regularly ... so why's Giuliani throwing away a voting block he'd easily carry but only if he shows he cares about them more than their worthless kids do?

;)

I say this (out of jealousy and anticipation) knowing that, when I'm an alter-kocker, I'll be exactly like that. And I'll frickin' enjoy every minute of it! They say youth is wasted on the young? Now that I'm older, I agree. But I say, as I always have, old age is wasted on the elderly ;)

Yeah. Whatever complaints I may have about the triviality of Ana Marie, her ability to connect everything to assfucking is one of the things I really appreciate about her.
