A Foreign Policy Plumber
I imagine, actually, that Sandy Berger makes an excellent enforcer. Given that he was last seen stuffing classified documents down his pants, the man isn't exactly a likelyfor an official appointment. But his longtime friendship with Hillary Clinton means he almost certainly has some personal influence, or at least access, to her and her advisors. That means, for Berger, his only chance to not be totally frozen out of policy making is to 1) see Hillary Clinton elected and 2) earn her favor. And because he knows he can't get an official position with any other campaign, his incentives are to do absolutely everything possible to ensure her victory and make himself useful. Clinton, meanwhile, won't have to give him anything tangible in return, and will disavow any official relationship with him, and so has no incentive to rein hm in. Which makes news that Berger is running around town trying to intimidate foreign policy officials rather worrisome...

That's a really brilliant way to put it. At some level it's all in the game, but that doesn't prevent BS like this from being ... welll .. BS.
One wonders if she has Domestic Policy Plumbers. Has Brad DeLong gotten a phone call in the middle of the night?

Sorry, but Matt's sources are pretty sketchy. Who are these "left-of-center" sources? Are they affiliated with other campaigns? There's little question that Yglesias is no fan of Hillary and these sorts of gossip lines are hard to swallow based on this flimsy evidence. Your argument is pretty convoluted and takes some leaps, perhaps plausible but leaps nonetheless. I'd imagine a more credible source, like Steve Clemons, would have been all over this if Yglesias were right. Clemons is one of the few fair bloggers around, but he doesn't pull punches when it comes to calling people out.
But hey, if something bad is said about the Clintons, it must be true!

I don't get it. Elliot Abrams came back. Why not Berger?

Sandy Berger should be waterboarded to find out the REAL STORY behind his treason and clandestine acts against the United States.

Sandy Berger did the Clintons Dirty work by stealing documents during the 911 Hearings . Now the Clinton Mob has to repay him.
