Geek Out
Today's posts, I should note, are all being typed on my gleaming new MacBook, purchased with both financial and informational support from you folks. So thanks! This, incidentally, is what I look like typing on it, if I were drawn in colored pencil:
Photobooth is totally the Simpletext "voice" function for a new generation.

I'm something of a conservative — personally, by temperment, although not politically; I'd use the word "Luddite" if I didn't spend so much time on World of Warcraft — so I have to point out that that looks exactly like the results of some image-editing software that came standard with Microsoft Office. I remember playing around with it in the high school computer labs.

Cool,but what's with the plague of locusts? (And how do you get anything done w/o Vox commands and speech to text? I've been using it for so long my arms are devolving away as I become more dolphin-shaped.)

I like the Light Tunnel effect myself, it gives me that god-like aura I believe I've earned.
I believe you need an Apple Script to do this, but was at a party once where the guy had Photobooth set to take a photo every minute then posted it online for all to see, it was quite entertaining (for those that attended of course).

The best thing to come from that whole debate. Would it be too rude to ask what percentage of the purchase came from online donations? Probably. But I'm curious, nonetheless.

welcome to the macbook world.
resist the urge to post any photobooth manipulated photos on facebook or myspace...
everyone without a macbook will scoff and make fun of how pretentious and face artsy you are. everyone with a macbook with laugh at how you're obviously one of those over-enthusiastic newcomers
and of course, yourself in a month or so, will look back and say "what was I thinking with that profile photo?"
by then several of your friends will have a macbook... it's a vicious cycle.
