You Forgot A Point
4. Point to individual fields or hives with an inordinately large number of bees, particularly in areas that don't generally have many bees. Ignore that these surprising concentrations are completely predicted by the theories.
Context here.

It's actually important NOT to bring that up because bee concentrations correlate with warmer climates and we mustn't provide ammunition to alarmists of ANY stripe.

And, when reporting on the subject in print or on air, don't forget to invite Jonah Goldberg or some other staff member of the National Review to provide "balance" to the highly-trained, expert scientists who are commenting on colony collapse disorder.

It so happens that my sister is a blogger, a liberal, and an academic entomologist. With that background, y'all might enjoy her post on this subject.

A context fill-in to my comment above: Ezra's Why Punditry Sucks in 96 from February 22. I was a bit too quick to the Post button.

6. Joke that since the bee eradication is coming anyway, might as well go ahead and plant all that good Monsanto corn that kills insects indiscriminately. After all, who doesn't like cheap chips and salsa?

TigerHawk,
Thanks for that; it was quite interesting. That you had found an blog post by an entomologist would have been enough for me to click; that she's your sister makes it a bit cool.
That you felt it necessary to inform us that she's "liberal" is troubling. Was it your intention to insult us by implying that people who come here won't read things by anyone who isn't a "liberal?"

6. Blame it on genetically modified corn, even though you have absolutely no evidence and common sense would make you think otherwise.

Stephen,
No insult intended. I was just goofin'. Given my reputation as, er, not a liberal, I thought a little context would entice more people over there.
Also, I knew my sister would see my characterization of her and I thought should get a kick out of it. We've been exchanging barbs on environmental politics ever since she denounced Exxon over Thanksgiving dinner (many years ago), at which point I offered to buy her Exxon stock for her cost basis so that she would run no risk of profiting from any of that company's crimes against nature. She didn't take me up on it.

Meander, Jonah wasn't invited on TOTN to provide balance to anyone. That segment of the show was about ideas from an editorial he wrote. The other two panelists were there for balance. It was a good discussion.
