Evites

Sigh. This is why I'm not a real journalist. I notice that Evite response quips are getting stressful and write a throwaway post for a blog none of you pay for. Three months later, Stephanie Rosenbloom parlays the same thing into a New York Times byline. On the other hand, she'll be forever associated with the term "R.S.V.Peeved" and I won't, so maybe it all works out in the end. Meanwhile, Carolyn Fitzpatrick, who Rosenbloom quotes in the article, appears to have just informed the whole world she hates her in-laws. Seems like a poor strategy in advance of the holidays.

Update: I'm not alone.

To be fair, she informed the world that her in-laws hate her, and that she'd rather drink with friends than hang out with said in-laws (which in and of itself isn't shocking, as most people would rather get loaded with friends than hang with their in-laws). Either way, sounds like there's really no love lost there.

First off, bitter is an unattractive color, E. :)

Second... God, is it just me and I am just that old now, but seriously... is this what you people spend a lot of time mulling over? Evite invitations? Seriously??? I mean, I'm usually like "sure, I'll come, and I hope it's not like last year when you wound up with a lampshade on your head" but it's not like I feel pressure to be witty it's just... well, I remember that time with the lampshade. Jeez, people. There's a war on. Can we set this one aside, maybe?
