Bad Fortune Cookies
Just finished a traditional Jewish Christmas at a local Chinese place and got the fortune, "Use today to prepare for greater challenges tomorrow."
Really? Can't you just tell me I'm handsome or wise or something?
How's your Baby Jesus day going?

My folks are all Mormons, who believe that Jesus was actually born on April 6th. But, accommodating people they are, Mormons celebrate Christmas the same time everyone else does, beginning in October. Very quiet holiday in my folks' house, quieter each year since about 1978, when we learned the truth about Santa.

I'm at my mom's house, with 27 other people besides me here. 17 of them are my mom's grandchildren.
But it is fun.
Whatever meaning this day may have, may peace be with you all.

Saw The Good Shephard (Working in the CIA Sucks, The Movie), struggling to find a Chinese place open in San Diego.

Because it's a FORTUNE cookie, not a proverb cookie!

Well-acted, but long and slow-paced. It demands you pay attention, and we had not-very-good seats. Casino Royale was a lot more fun.
