Another Win

Ciro Rodriguez has beaten Henry Bonilla in a runoff to become the 30th Democrat pickup for Congress. His is a particularly sweet win: Like Lampson's acquisition of DeLay's seat, it's the direct product of the Hammer's redistricting scheme, which rebounded on two of the safest, most potent incumbents in the bunch, having assumed them safe enough to take some Democrats into their districts. Also, for those who have forgotten, Bonilla was the subject of one of Jon Stewart's most classic eviscerations. Video here.

I'll always remember Bonilla as the guy who wanted to rename 16th Street after Reagan. Yet another reason to celebrate his defeat.

Chris Bowers reports: Democrats now have 233 seats in the 110th congress, more than Republicans have had since 1952. the Republican "revolution" never secured this large a majority in the House.

Take a toke of THAT, Captain (and Freddie).

You know, there is a certain sense of, for lack of a better term, relaxation that comes with not having those who are closer to your line of thinking in power. Maybe I am rationalizing the loss for conservatives and except for the fact that the Dems could try to turn us into France, but I can sit back and laugh at the baffoonish behavior in congress and not feel the sense of shame that is felt when it is my guys in charge of the baffoonary.

I can't wait to see the new public opinion polls of congress. I bet the approval ratings haven't changed and won't, but this time it is a Democratic congress.

Yeah, the Dems have started out with a bang already Jim (Pelosi's support of corrupt Dems, Intell Chairmen who don't know if al Qaeda[OUR ENEMY] is Sunni or Shia, etc.), and the Dems haven't even taken control!

Let the good times roll!

Bonilla is fast on his feet (in the Stewart clip), though, I'll give him that.

God- I used to think Toke was delusional- but he openned his mouth, and now I think he's just crazy
