Oh No You Didn't

The Go Fug Yourself girls have always had an affection for Lindsey Lohan (if not her outfits). So it's both satisfying and somehow sweet to see Heather disembowel Brandon Davis for last week's taped tirade. Also, it's a helluva good read.

I've got a question about Go Fug Yourself. Am I supposed to hate the people who write that blog, or is the image of petty contempt and casual, sneering disdain they project part of a brilliantly prolonged Kaufmanesque facade?

I absolutely hate bullies, especially petty, contemptuous bullies (see: Gawker, Defamer, Perez Hilton, et. al.), but GFY doesn't bother me. They hate on the clothes, but often show a fair bit of affection or respect for the people. (OK, Britney gets treated like a cartoon, but I don't get the feeling that they just flat-out hate her and want to bring her down.) But criticising celebrities for the (subjectively) ugly clothes they wear doesn't nearly compare with the kind of crap that Davis was spewing, nor does it compare with the sniggering repackaged gossip and rumours about people's private lives found in the gossip blogs.

Who is Brandon Davis?

GFY is truly hilariously bitchy in an excellent way. I <3 that website.

There's some thing happening here but you don't know what it is, do you, Mr. Jones?

Um, no.
