Since I don't feel like registering for a TypeKey account I'll post it here.

Amanda Marcotte needs to stop reading people's minds, stop relying on short quotes in AP articles and stop attributing factual gripes with a perceived motive.

It's not hard to get a typekey account.

I'm amused by the thought that someday we'll need a men's and a women's racing league, with the occasional especially skilled man breaking the gender barrier to race with the women. It probably won't happen, but it'd be funny.

James Huston is correct in that Amanda does look for opportunities to be offended and sees herself as some kind of warrior princess of the blogosphere when it comes to wimmins' rights issues. However, she has cried "wolf" too often to be credible or interesting.
Another note is that pandagon never needed the typekey registration when Ezra was there...

Well, that's more or less how I see Amanda. And while I have my disagreements with everybody, warrior princesses included, I like having a couple of them around. (An all-warrior-princess party would, indeed, be massively unbalanced. You need at least one wizard and a cleric to beat the last boss.)

Interesting, though, that pandagon has all of those problems that required the typekey registration system and others don't. As evidenced above, many posters simply avoid this imposition altogether.

Dudes, this typekey bitching is getting really silly. Let's see if I understand what's at the core of the worry here. It's true that Amanda is the kind of writer whose provocative claims tend to attract mad trolls, making typekey necessary. Fair enough! I want to read Amanda's provocative claims. I have learned lots of stuff from her. It's worth the extra ~3 minutes that it takes to set up a typekey account if I want to comment.

You forgot to include the apology that was forthcoming when you seemed to touchy about mentioning your father, both in private and in public. Your blog has suffered at the hands of Amanada. Amanda is a first class asshole who simply wishes to pick fights. She has no education and is predictable in her love of man-bashing.
If I don't agree with you and Amanda, then I'm the _________________(place appropriate insult in blank area). There is no room for dissent on pandagon. I get along pretty good here and don't miss you as much as you think.

Calling Amanda 'man-hating' when she lives with a guy is really silly, if you stopped and thought about it.

If she hates guys so much, according to you, then what kind of guy is living with her?

That's like calling someone a 'cat-hater' and then it's revealed that they have an orange tabby living with them in their home.

As for the monstrous crime of blogging at work, how do we know you're not doing the same thing?
