Iowa GOP Caucus
by Nicholas Beaudrot of Electoral Math
Just a quick note, and then I'll go back to trying mightily to ignore the horserace. Iowa's Republican caucus, which is really a statewide straw poll, does not use the same procedures as the Democratic caucus. There's a secret ballot, which determines delegates to County Conventions, which then determine delegates for the State Convention. There's no 15% threshold as there is in the Democratic caucus. That means it's not particularly important which candidate is the second choice of McCain, Paul, etc. supporters.

Screw the Republican nonentities, they've got about as much chance of winning the presidency as my mama.
Strike that, my mother has a better chance than they do, she has a significantly superior platform. :-)

Obama Surges Ahead in Iowa, among likely caucus goers.
Obama pulls ahead for Democrats in Iowa Poll
Obama -- 28%
Clinton -- 25%
Edwards -- 23%
And there was great rejoicing in Mudville. :-)
Obama 08, time to win one for the American people!

If Obama's the nominee, the GOP's chances will be better than you think.

Late entry. Low budget. Won't accept campaign contributions or tax dollars for matching funds or salary if elected.
But I have pluses: Best stands on issues...example -
Make the first $50,000 of personal income exempt from federal income tax, and increase the amount by $12,500 each year.
And, a plan for more quickly getting a succesful conclusion of the Iraq War, with less bloodshed and less cost.
Here's a shocker: Just one wife, Linda, for about 44 years. I run a family business with her and our three grown children. It's successful, no debt, profitable.
That's family values and economic values. Are you and America ready for a balanced budget? I am!
