Today's Captain Renault award goes to . . .
By Kathy G.
Claude Rains is shocked, shocked!
Salon reports the shocking, shocking! news that the DC "hot" reporter contest was rigged.
I find it funny. All the DC based geeksters obsessed with this hotness poll. Does it really matter? Or is the DC based blogger community becoming like the rest of the Beltway "establishment"? I thought you guys and gals were better than that.

On the movie trivia side of things, which actor brought Rains' winnings to him right as he was ordering Bogey to shut down because of gambling?

I liked beardless Kriston better, anyway. He looked like the offspring of the Johns in They Might Be Giants.

The Capt. Renault Award is hilarious. You should use it more often, particularly when the MSM suddenly discovers something that has been painfully obvious to the rest of us. Share it with Andrew Sullivan too, to go along with his Malkin Award and Yglesias Award.

She's not a DC person, but Lindsay Beyerstein is a hottie. Amanda Marcotte too in that naughty librarian way.

Marcel Dalio played the croupier who brought Claude Rains his winnings.

Thank g*d the winner wasn't that nasty girl who flaunted her boobs or any of those so called feminists who tried to defender. I certainly would have been in the running if I lived in the district and was a reporter.

Right, Kenneth. He fled from the Nazis at the height of his career in France, having played major roles for Renoir in Grand Illusion and Rules of the Game. Madeleine LeBeau, who played Yvonne in Casablanca (the desperate woman at the bar who can't get Rick to pay attention to her), was his wife at the time.
