I couldn't bring myself to watching the choir (debate) practicing, but I suspect they have the hymn to the war pretty well mastered.

I was hoping some live-blogging would raise up anything of significance, but I guess there wasn't anything - which is no surprise, really.

I'm worried about Ezra though. Chinese take-out food on Mon. Pizza on Tues. Will Micky D's be next?

jim...

wait,i think it was chinese take-out on sunday...
maybe it was micky d's for the faith-based dialogue on monday...
that would work.

Yo Jackie
You're totally freakin me out. I thought the ellipses came before the words. My world is totally higgledy-piggledy now.
Feel ok?

If we are supposed to expose kids to all theories doesn't that mean we need to give holocaust deniers time to disucss their theories? Really an especially crappy answer in a debate full of them.

Mitt Romney irritates me very badly. Besides his foolish misuse of the notion of a null set, his unstoppable, ever-ready barrages of platitudes and choice words to stroke his caricature of the Republican party membership is insufferable. I haven't wanted to punch a political candidate in the face as badly as I want to punch Romney in the fact since John Kerry meandered onto the state at the Democratic convention in 2004 and without the slightest hint of irony proclaimed, "I'm reporting for duty."

I'm surprised and confused by the question regarding English as the national language that both sets of candidates have been asked. The question hardly seems among the most pressing of our times and so far has been little but an invitation to foolishness. Representative Tancredo's response was repulsive and nonsensical. I doubt that he could point to any bilingual countries that are in dire straights and even if he could, I could point to more that aren't. A declaration of a national language can only be either a malign symbol or the licensing of monstrous acts and the worst prejudices among the people of the union.
