Fun With The Internets
I missed this the first time around, but The New York Times coupled their inequality report with a cool calculator that allows you to graph how your salary has kept up with the median wage earner in your position, and with the wage growth experienced by other groups. Because you wanted to spend your Monday morning examining how much better other people have done than you. Failure.
Also, you smell funny.

I doubt it's all that useful for us. I imagine there's an enormous disparity between journalists' pay in the major news markets (esp NY and DC) and the rest of the country, and the calculator doesn't make distinctions that fine. There's certainly a huge difference between journo pay in London and the rest of the UK.

I don't believe I'm reading this correctly. I couldn't find a good industry into which for-profit communications consultant to non-profits fits, so I just chose "non-profit" and "professional." I seriously doubt the median salary for 25-year-old white males in this arena is $72,000. Either that, or I'm getting fucked.

Has alabama left the Union again? I don't see South Eastern or South Central. I had to go with South Atlantic but without much enthusiasm. It also leaves out graduate level education and has a difficult to decipher set of occupational categories. I give it a solid C.

Is this salary or total compensation? I would assume total comp, sense that's where the top 10% is really making their money.
