More Pushing

Look, I'm just saying, the Moderate Voice is making a totally stunning, totally organic comeback in the "best centrist blog" category. This one's going to go down to the wire and so, for once, your ballot will actually count! Go rock the vote!

Remember, you can vote once every 24 hours. So what're you waiting for?

Update: The Moderate Voice is now ahead. Go seal the deal.

"and so, for once, your ballot will actually count!"

There's no paper trail on the ballot. I call "Florida" on the whole affair.

Every time I feel bad about doing this, I read Althouse's comments and feel much better.

There's still a lot of voting ahead of us. But if TMV wins, it'll be support from you and Amanda that put them over the top.

"Every time I feel bad about doing this"

Why do you feel bad? It's totally ok to vote for Joe Gandelman and his crew, they are nice guys. And true moderates, people who will listen and discuss, not like hateful fake 'centriste' Althouse. Plus, TMV supports a lot of smaller blogs by linking to them. They deserve our votes.

okay, I did. I've voted before and have again. TMV is a favorite of mine to read.

Thanks for the heads up - I like Gandelman's work, and I think his site actually hits the "centrist" ideal more often than anyone else on that list. Why does Anne Althouse's site get classified as a "centrist" site, though? She's a fairly obvious conservative apologist and isn't really close to being "centrist" at all.

And as FL points out, it doesn't get much funnier than Althouse complaining about how it's dorky to meet with a former President of the United States in the same post in which you beg your readers to vote for you in the fucking Weblog awards for the third time...

Is this a joke of some kind? Who gives a flying fuck about "The Moderate Voice"?

Posted by: e | Dec 13, 2006 12:05:08 AM

but I am the one true moderate voice.
You liberals are just ignorant and hateful.

"You liberals are just ignorant and hateful."
Well, coming from someone who publicly stated that she wants to "crush" TMV at the award polls, this statement doesn't really sound convincing, Althouse. You went ballistic just because you had a ridiculous brawl with one of its bloggers (that unnecessarily went out of control), so don't try to present yourself as the victim now.

And you're only moderate when compared to, say, Michelle Malkin. You deliberately put on this new label and pushed your fans to fraudulently nominate you as a 'centrist' blogger in order to ruin TMV's chances for the award. There are lots of people who think this is hateful, who don't like your personally targetting of Jessica (of feministing.com) for wearing the 'wrong' clothes at a photo shooting, and who thus like to see your plan thwarted. The result: TMV is leading 4600 vs. 2600 in the polls.

Calling Ann Althouse a centrist, is like calling George Bush a successful President.

I don't suppose that after all this is over, we can all just agree to ignore this particular set of Blog Awards next year?

I mean, Althouse as moderate, LGF as "Best Blog" kind and so forth kind of calls this whole enterprise into serious question now, doesn't it?

No chance of this happening, but I think Gilliard's take on this whole blog awards thing is substantially right.

And what's more -- given that the voting results are nothing more than a function of --

1. Your blog's traffic, and
2. Whether or not you and those friendly to you advertise the contest, and how much.

-- doesn't it make more sense to bypass the totally silly #2, which has almost nothing to do with the worth of your blog and just go straight to #1, which is at least a weak proxy for your blog's value?
