Tom Kean Jr. is the Republican candidate for Senate in New Jersey. Did you hear the one about his plan to reduce gas prices?

Cool! I blinked at the screen for a couple of seconds before I realized what was going on. After all, it wasn't like I really expected too much cleverness from the DSCC. But clever this is. Ha!

Not to be a sourpuss, but what is his oponent's plan to reduce gas prices?

Here's your answer, Dustin, from Harry Reid's website. Senator Menendez is Kean's Democratic opponent:
Today, Democrats proposed an amendment to provide immediate relief to consumers. The amendment introduced by Senator Menendez will provide more than $6 billion in relief directly to the American people by eliminating the federal tax for both gas and diesel for 60 days. During the period of this gas tax holiday, the cost of gas will be reduced by $0.184 per gallon and the cost of diesel by $0.244 per gallon. We will pay for this tax cut by eliminating tax breaks and giveaways to big oil.

I would support this just for eliminating the tax breaks & giveaways for Big Oil (which may be all it essentially is) but how is this "Gas Tax Holiday" much different from republicans peddling hundred dollar giveaways to pay for gas?

Am I the only one who think it's strange that they're making fun of fraternities? Didn't like 10% of the public belong to a fraternity or a sorority? And more in a well-educated state in New Jersey?

I must object, however, to their Internet Exporer normativity.
