Not Charity

John Cole gets this perfectly, totally right:

One quick thing- these are charity organizations, but I don’t think of this as charity in the sense of mere benevolence. This is an obligation we have to help. This is a necessity.

Right now, the donations page has just barely broken $17,000. We're going for a million! Please, if you can possibly afford it, help out.

Question: any way to track donations made directly to the Red Cross (et. al.)? My company has set up a matching donations program, and obviously I'd like to take advantage of that, but if I fax HQ a donation to "Liberal Blogs for Hurricane Relief" I don't think they'll go for that.

I donated earlier, but not through your blog effort. It was not because of politics but only because the liberal blogs were way behind the curve in their timing. It wouldn't have mattered to me.

BTW, is the chick on the ad for SavvyInsider.com your girlfriend? Yeeeoooowww......!!
