Darfur
This is really horrible. There's nothing much I can say about it, but it's really, really horrible.

I went to the link to read the article and then looked at the comments. At that time, there were 74. It didn't take long (fourth comment) for someone to blame President Bush for this ongoing tragedy. I thought that was simply awful to opportunistically use this horrible war to bash the president.
This terrible tragedy is an intra-Muslim racist war against the black Muslims by Arabs. It is one of the worst things I have ever even heard about.
This should serve to show how utterly stupid and simplistic the entertainment community is when saying that all Africa needs is debt forgiveness and let's throw some money at this problem. Without accompanying political reform, the money ends up in the pockets of dictators and regimes that use it to further suppress and kill. Thanks, Hollywood and thanks to the dumb and uneducated rock stars that use their hearts but not their brains. They probably do more harm than good.
